Established in 1993, Jenssel Park Shetland Stud is located in Junee, in the beautiful Riverina region of NSW. We are a small stud of around 20 ponies including youngstock, and usually breed 4-5 foals each year. We aim to breed beautiful show quality Shetlands with  bone and substance, kind temperaments for children and great movement for performance activities.  Our mares range in height from 7.3-10hh but we mostly produce ponies aimed at the 9.2hh & under, and 8.2hh & under classes.

In 2004 we added a new direction for our breeding program with the purchase of our stallion, Laurelwood Viking (right), in order to breed small Shetlands of miniature height that retain the good bone and movement of the larger ponies. Our under 8.2hh mares have been carefully selected in order to produce show quality APSB/AMPS registered foals that retain true Shetland characteristics. Sadly Viking passed away in 2007 but thankfully we have retained his two beautiful daughters both of whom have already been successfully shown.

We were fortunate in being able to purchase a lovely coloured colt from SA as a future sire for the stud. Butterfield Krackerjack has already been extremely successful in AMPS classes as a yearling culminating in an Australasian Championship title and SA High-point AMPS Colt award. It will take a very special pony to fill Viking's place but Krackerjack is well up to the task.
